I always find amazing bargain gifts under $5 at the craft store Michaels. I was at the Upper West Side store the other day and found these typography-themed initial notebooks for just $1 each (they're wrapped in cellophane so the photos is a bit blurry)--plus the cashier gave me a 40% off coupon so I bought all 3 of these for just $1.80.
