I'm guessing many of you have heard of E.L. James's book Fifty Shades of Grey. I must be living under a rock because I had never heard of it until a friend of mine (a suburban mom of two) left me a breathless voicemail telling me to BUY THIS BOOK NOW. She said it is the talk of her town and every mom is reading it. And that it is, uh, "not PG rated." Here is the description from Amazon.com:

I'll admit it--my interest is piqued--particularly since in the last two days I have had two additional friends tell me "you must read this book." It's pricey for a paperback ($29.99), but if everyone says it's this good, maybe it's worth it?

Ok, so I never heard of this until you posted. Then last night my friend (who moved around the corner from me here, from the UES!) told me that all of suburbia is reading this trilogy. She said she struggled to get through the first book, the second was better, and she will read the third because she feels she has to. Let me know what you think. I'm curious...
ReplyDeleteLoved. And it is a must read. Now. You have to mentally get past all of the *non-so-PG-rated* parts in the first book. The second was my favorite but the third gave a lot of closure. Once you read you won't be able to stop.
