Meeting Kris Jenner

Earlier this week I got to attend a book launch party for Kris Jenner, whose memoirs Kris Jenner . . . And All Things Kardashian was just released (and has already coasted up to #47 top-selling book on Amazon.com). The party was hosted by the fabulous Moms and the City (if you live in NYC, you've likely seen these gals on Taxi TV). The timing of the event was interesting, to say the least, because it directly followed news of Kim Kardashian's divorce. Kris Jenner, however, was the epitome of class (it helped that no one asked about that topic). She fielded questions from a roomful of mom bloggers on everything from child-rearing (she always has told her kids that nothing is more important than "being nice" and putting on a smile even when you feel down) to her top beauty tip (washing her face with a hot washcloth and glycerin soap every night before bed--a tip she learned when she was a stewardess in the 1970s). I must say, I'm curious to read her book not only for the celeb gossip value, but also because it addresses topics familiar to me like divorcing when you have children.

As a side note, I also wanted to share with you some of the goodies in the event gift bag. They were pretty fabulous, too:

Presenting . . . Tallulah children's book by Tori Spelling ($6.75 at Amazon.com)

Black Hematite Drop Earrings ($40) by Bauble Bar

FM Artisan by Norman Love gourmet chocolates ($29.99 for 12 pieces). The lemonade flavor is delish.

I received complimentary admission to the Kris Jenner book launch party plus a gift bag. I was not compensated in any other way for this post, and all views expressed are entirely my own.
