I got the idea for this thumbtack-studded pumpkin from Gooseberry Patch Halloween (page 23) as well as a blog called Random Handprints. I love this look--it reminds me of nailhead-trimmed upholstery which is one of my favorite decor styles. My "studded pumpkin" is not quite finished yet because my thumbs are so sore, but I think it's turning out pretty well, don't you? I recommend doing this on a small pumpkin unless you have a lot of time, patience, and strong hands!
