Getting Glam at Duane Reade's LOOK Boutique

This past Friday night, our Duane Reade VIP Blogger group had a fantastic 2nd meet-up (you can read about the first meet-up here). We were treated to lots of pampering at the gorgeous, marble flagship store at 40 Wall Street. Did you know that Duane Reade's "LOOK Boutiques"--housed within many of its NYC locations-- offer everything from mani/pedis to brow shapings to make-up applications to hair styling? It's quick, easy, and the pricing is very competitive for NYC. Use Duane Reade's Store Locator to find a LOOK Boutique near you.

First, I got my eyebrows done. Duane Reade's eyebrow artists are trained by renowed "brow guy" Ramy Gafni. I was so pleased with the results. A brow application costs just $30 which, trust me, in NYC is a very fair price for such professional treatment.

I also got my makeup done (and even wore fake eyelashes for the first time). I usually wear little make-up (just a dab of lip gloss) and even though at first it looked like way too much for me, I actually like how it looks in photos:

The LOOK Boutiques also offer these cool computerized "Find Your Look" makeovers where you can give different colors and looks a virtual spin:

Besides cosmetics and fragrances, the LOOK Boutiques carry pretty accessories like these shiny cosmetic bags by Trina & Co.:

Here is Duane Reade VIP Blogger extraordinaire Melissa Chapman, author of Staten Island Family, getting her hair blown out (and tweeting at the same time, of course).

The meet-up was co-hosted by a fantastic NYC beauty blogger, Christine Tsang (of Tineey). You might remember that Christine came to cover my makeover that I won at BlogHer two years ago.

As a total aside, I covet Christine's Rilakkuma Bear iPhone CoveriPhone cover. I may buy it from Amazon where it costs just $3.99. Awesome.

Fellow Duane Reade VIP blogger Victoria Pericon (of Veep Veep) joined me for mini manicures. I got turquoise (I love choosing bold colors for spring and summer) and she chose periwinkle blue. There are so many great color options by Essie. And manicures cost just $10 at the 40 Wall Street store!

It was a fantastic evening, and even though I turned back into a pumpkin well before midnight (this mama has to get up at the crack of dawn, with a clean face) it felt awesome being pampered for two precious hours. Thanks so much to Duane Reade for this opportunity! I encourage those of you in NYC to go treat yourself at the 40 Wall Street flagship store, too.

Disclosure: I received complimentary salon services and a gift bag at this event. I was not compensated for this post and all opinions expressed herein are, as always, entirely my own.
