On the camp bus this year R. met another little girl with very curly hair just like hers. Except this girl has neat curls...which R. does not. We are always fighting with tangles, despite using de-tangling shampoo and a wide-tooth comb (R. is very sensitive to combing and we never seem to get the knots out without causing her great pain). So when this other curly-haired girl's mom recommended the Remington Tangle Tamer, I thought I'd give it a whirl (hehe). Despite being taken aback by the, um, weird appearance of this thing, I am very pleased with how well it works. It really does get the knots out gently, though you need to have the patience to apply it to one small section at a time. And it's loud....something else that R. does not tolerate well. So while it's helped us about 50% with the curls (R. doesn't want to wait to finish the job...), I think it probably helps others more. But if you're at your wit's end with your daughter's tangled hair--and you dread combing it after bath-time--you should definitely try it. It costs just $10.30 (regularly $29.99) at Amazon.com.
