Once upon a time in 2007 when I launched this itty bitty blog, I registered the name "mymomshops.blogspot.com" at Blogger.com. I didn't think the blog would really turn into anything. That first week, maybe 5 people read it and that included my mom and two of her friends.
But, somehow it took off, and now somewhere up to 1000 people read it every day. For which I am very, very grateful.
So I've wanted to register the domain name "www.mymomshops.com" for some time now. After all, "www.mymomshops.blogspot.com" is something of a mouthful and gets awfully long for me to print on a nametag at conferences (thanks, Liz Gumbinner).
Unfortunately, I missed a brief window when that domain name was available, and an enterprising cybersquatter decided to grab the name and then steal content from my own site. Lovely, right? Don't worry, he got caught. It's all good now.
Today, I am the proud of owner of www.mymomshops.com. Which is actually this same blog, but at the address it was meant to have all along. You can type in either the old or the new address and you'll get to the same place. But now when you want to tell your friends about this cool shopping blog you read, you can just tell them "go to mymomshops.com" rather than getting out a pen and developing writer's cramp.
So, re-set those bookmarks to www.mymomshops.com. And welcome (back)!
p.s. Thanks, again, are due to the incomparable Liz Gumbinner and Isabel Kallman for steering this rookie in the right direction. You guys are the best.
Congratulations!
