9 Years Later

I'm curious whether other New Yorkers who read this blog have "9/11" days here in the city- and by that I don't mean the anniversary days like today- but other September days like the one I noticed this past Tuesday, where the weather, the sunlight, and even the smell of the air seems took me right back to that morning in 2001. This week, I was on my way to an appointment with S. downtown and I looked up at the sky and everything just seemed just like then- the bright sky, the crispness in the air, the quick pace of people getting back to work and school after summer vacation. But it's not just like then at all. It's nine years later, and I was holding my son's hand. The "big" world has changed, and so has my little one.

I wish continued strength to the families of the victims, and peace to our country.

p.s. Do you watch/listen to the reading of the names of the victims every year? There is nothing like it.
p.p.s. I found a bit of my own history online. My late grandma and I were mentioned in this New York Times article about 9/11 by Alex Witchel. Take a look on page 2.
