Fancy Dress for Chuck E. Cheese

Last year R. had her 6th birthday party at renowned NYC confectionary Dylan's Candy Bar. This year (lucky for my wallet) she has chosen a far more pedestrian location- Chuck E. Cheese. Yes, everyone has warned me about the madness that is Chuck E. Cheese, but she insists. She wants to wear another fancy pink party dress this year and decided on this Kitty Kat Silk Rosette Ruffles Party Dress from Macy's. It's currently on sale for $59.99 (originally $92) though I bought it for even less over the July 4th holiday weekend sale. It's very pretty and I'm quite sure it will promptly be stained by (mediocre, I'm told) pizza and ice cream at Chuck E. Cheese. No matter. She only turns 7 once, right? It is one of the first dresses I've bought her from a "big girls'" (7-14) section of a department store (sniff, sniff). Check out the other size 7-14 dress offerings at Macy's. You may see why I wish she still wore a size 6!

  1. Cute dress! But yes, it's very hard to find nice, age-appropriate dresses past size 6. My six-year-old daughter is about the height of R, and it has suddenly become far more challenging to shop for her!

  2. Absolutely. R. is almost 4 feet tall now and I really don't like a lot of the size 7-14 styles for her. Fortunately she still seems OK with wearing Gymboree, Lands End, and CWD Kids. Talbots Kids was great, too, while it lasted.
