On morning recently, my five-year-old daughter emerged from her bedroom wearing the skimpiest part of her Cinderella costume, high heeled shoes, and bright red lipstick, and then asked totally seriously, "Mommy, how do you like my new profession?" I burst out laughing (she didn't get the joke, fortunately) and promptly wrote a note to myself on a Post-It to record this quote. Of course, I subsequently lost the Post-It. I could definitely use this new journal My Quotable Kid by Chronicle Books. It is such a smart idea. The journal is filled with cute pages where you can jot down all the funny (or touching) things your little one says. Sort of like the Baby Time "easy" baby book I have recommended before, My Quotable Kid is a quick, easy way to record your child's most memorable moments (in a format that won't get tossed out acccidentally like a Post-It). This would also make a sweet keepsake gift for new parents. It costs $14.95 at Chronicle Books.
